Bhawanipatna: Authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of a young man and a girl hanging from a tree in Kalahandi district on Saturday.

The deceased, a 23-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were found at Kaodala village, located within the jurisdiction of the Ampani police station.

Investigators believe that the pair may have taken their own lives due to familial disapproval of their relationship, which was reportedly hindered by caste differences.

Both individuals were residents of the same village, and the police are treating this case as a potential suicide linked to societal pressures.
